2012 North American Workforce Symposium is April 26
The 2012 North American Workforce Symposium, hosted by North America's Corridor Coalition, is slated for Thursday, April 26, at the Speedway Club at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
The event will bring together business leaders, educational partners and community organizations to help ensure trained and certified personnel for the manufacturing, supply chain and logistics industries in North America. The symposium will also emphasize the necessity of partnerships between regional business, economic and education organizations.
Among the keynote speakers is Jennifer McNelly, senior vice president of The Manufacturing Institute. The symposium is being presented in cooperation with Alliance Global Logistics Hub, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas and the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council. Manufacturing Institute and University of Phoenix Scholarships
The Manufacturing Institute and University of Phoenix have come together to help manufacturing employees and students advance professionally and personally with scholarship opportunities that can help individuals earn their degrees at University of Phoenix.
Twenty (20) full-tuition University of Phoenix Manufacturing Institute Scholarships will be awarded to workers and students hoping to complete their undergraduate or master's degree. Scholarship recipients may choose to attend University of Phoenix online or at a nearby location.
The application deadline is April 18, 2012. The Award date is June 23, 2012.

MSSC Gains International Standards Organization (ISO) Accreditation
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the U.S. division of the ISO, Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee has granted the MSSC accreditation under ISO Standard 17024 (certification of individuals) for their two national certifications: Certified Production Technician (CPT) and Certified Logistics Technician (CLT). MSSC is the only national certification body to receive ANSI-ISO 17024 accreditation for manufacturing and for logistics.
MSSC Pretest
An updated version (V.2) of Wisconsin's MSSC Pretest is now available. The pretest is designed to help individuals determine their readiness to take the national MSSC assessment for certification. Each of the four (4) assessments is a one hour, time-limited test.
